An outstanding English ebonised 19th century cabinet, made in c1883 by Roodhouse & sons of Leeds, and at the time of making this cabinet Roodhouse had the contract to make all the shelves and cabinets in Leeds main library, only in existence for around 10 years from 1875-1884, but had designs obtained from Dr Christopher Dresser, this cabinet fits the description of pieces that were taken to display at the exhibition, using American walnut and carved ebony trims and bevelled mirrors and hand painted botanical panels, this piece has all of the above and has a real feel of elegance and sophistication, it’s in good antique condition with mild wear and marks only, the cabinet stands 52” high x 21.5” wide, you will need to contact us for a delivery options, we use antique movers for our uk larger deliveries and is roughly £100 to London from our warehouse.
