A beautiful and unique , hand made Chinese antique baby elephant, made from pottery and it’s form and glaze suggest probably Ming period, although the original body has a blue look and the glaze is a buff type, and the body is open below, the same as a Tang horse from around the first century A.D, so it could be much older, this type of piece could possibly have been made to place in a tomb, like many tomb attendants, this unusual piece may have been used for an infants tomb
